From Screen to Sterling: How a Piece Comes to Life

From Screen to Sterling: How a Piece Comes to Life

People are often surprised to learn that our pieces begin nowhere near a jeweler's bench. They begin on a screen.

Step 1 — Digital Sculpture

Using 3D modeling software, I sculpt the piece exactly as it will exist in metal — every scale, every fold, every sharp edge. This stage can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on complexity. Nothing is rushed. A piece isn't finished until the proportions feel right in every direction.

Step 2 — Casting

Once the digital model is approved, it's cast using lost-wax casting in sterling silver, 18K gold, or rose gold — whichever the piece calls for. This is where digital precision meets old-world metalwork.

Step 3 — Hand Finishing

This is the part that can't be rushed or automated. Every cast piece is hand-finished: filed, polished, and detailed by hand. Small imperfections from casting are corrected one at a time. This stage alone can take several hours per piece.

Step 4 — Numbering & Certification

Each finished piece is numbered and paired with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Once a design sells out its edition, it's retired for good — no reissues, no reproductions.

That's the whole idea behind "One Artist. One Piece. One Owner." Not a slogan — a production philosophy.
